HOMEWORK #49      16th Century Art in Northern Europe   
1  Look at map & time line which begin Chapter 23   List dates for this period & the main "actors" on world stage.
2  Read about Protestant Reformation, taking notes using the chapter headings as your guide.
3  Notes on how divergent views on religious imagery affected the arts.
4  Read about Martin Luther. Make a few notations.
5   Read about Erasmus& write a few phrases indicating his importance.

HOMEWORK #50      Grünewald & Dürer 
1  Notes on  Grünewald's Isenheim Altarpiece - especially the Temptation of St. Anthony scene
Look in both texts on this work to get complete view of the 'stages' of the altarpiece. 
2  List the works by Cranach in Adams.  Take few notes.
3  List works by Dürer in both texts.  Read "box" in Adams on "Myth of Mad Artist".  Make any notes you wish.
4  List reasons Dürer is called the "Leonardo of the North"
