HW #40     “Early Medieval Europe "  (14th Century Italian Art)  
 1   Read about the "cities on the Italian peninsula" Take brief notes on disruption, change, and humanism.
 2   List the major churches erected during this time with their dates.
 3   Take notes on :  Cimabue, Giotto, Berlingheri, Martini, and their famous works.
 4   Add Giotto to painting review sheet.

HW #41  "Sculpture during the 14th Century "            
  1    Take notes at on Nicola & Giovanni Pisano & Claus Sluter w/ small diagrams of their famous works.
  2    Monastery Cloisters featured sculpture. Take notes on the ones featured at Moissac, Vezelay, & St. Lazare. Make small diagrams of the most famous works.

HW #42   "The 15th Century in the North "
   1    Make a few notes about the "Very Rich Hours of the Duc de Berry".
   2    Ghent Altarpiece: ("Altarpiece of the Lamb") Make a few notes about the subject matter, and the materials used in the creation of this monumental work.
   3    Make notes about the "Man in the Red Turban".
   4    Portrait of Arnolfini and His Wife. List the "disguised symbols" seen in this wedding painting.
   5    Rogier van der Weyden, list his most famous works & a few notes about each.
   6    Add Van Eyck and van der Weyden to painting review sheet.
