Essay question: Most cultures have made use of art's narrative function.
Select and fully identify two works of art that visually convey a narrative.  At least one of your choices must be from beyond the European tradition.  Identify the subject of each narrative and discuss the means used to convey the narrative.  One must be on exhibit in the Cloisters Museum, the other must be currently on exhibit in the Metropolitan Museum.  Write a full essay that includes all identifying information, a description of the story being told, the way the artist chose to tell the story, and the importance of that narrative to the culture in which it was created. Use museum labels, online resources, and both of your textbooks for information. Include citations as end notes. List your resources, works cited, below the essay. See rubric for grading essay.
