ASSEMBLE YOUR REPORT IN THIS ORDER:
1. Title page / cover sheet, with receipt from MMA, a photo of you in the Egyptian section of the Met Museum, your name, art history period and teacher's name, date, name of museum, and "title" of your report. 10pts.
2. Completed chart comparing works from content Area 2 to similar pieces in the Met  40pts.
3. Essay on power and authority: see rubric for grading essay Full identification of objects at top of page. Type or paste question above essay. Write an essay explaining how each work of art conveys that particular culture’s notion of power and authority. Compare the ideas of both cultures regarding how each conveys power and authority. Use citations from museum labels, both of your textbooks to support the information in your essay. link to mla citation within text  40pts.
4. Works Cited list used for your essay (your textbooks), use standard mla citation style.   10pts.

Part II - Displays of Power and Authority in the Ancient Mediterranean
-    Answer the essay question by using both of your textbooks.
-    When writing, use your own words.  Write clearly in complete sentences.  If you use an author's words or ideas, put quotations around the words, and identify the source in a citation within the essay. link to mla citation within text  
-    Plan on writing, editing, rewriting, and rewriting again before you make your final version. Be as succinct as you can be.
-    Must be TYPED.  Save a copy on your computer or flash drive. ALL pages should be 8.5" x 11". Assemble and number pages according to the instructions below.  Put your name on each page. Presentation counts!   Please use a standard font such as TIMES or ARIAL.

Choose any 2 works from the list below, each must be from a different culture. Write an essay explaining how each work of art or architecture conveys that particular culture's notion of power and authority. Compare the ideas of both cultures regarding how each conveys power and authority. Whose power is conveyed? (HINT: It's always a human displaying power.)
